Supplements Vs Good Diet?
I often get asked the question which is better having a good diet or taking supplements to make up for having a poor diet? Have you ever thought that the real thing is not as good as the knock off? Not likely, the same goes for your diet.
If you have a great diet you really don’t need any supplements at all and you will be much more fit and healthy than any supplement taker with a poor diet. There is a reason they are called supplements because they are meant to be added to your diet, but are not made to replace it.
I know there is an issue with vegetarians not getting enough protein in their diet and that’s true especially if you are a body builder. Although a healthier source of protein can be produced from a variety of vegetables, nuts and whole grains.
Now I’m not a diet expert and certainly not a dietitian. However I have friends who are dietitians and they back me on these claims. One of my good friends is a vegetarian and a dietitian. Who better to ask then her?
The fact is foods can offer many things that supplements can such as total cereal offering tons of vitamins if not all the recommended amount. I’ll go into food list in later post, but it’s important to know that its a matter of finding the right foods.
How do you think all the people stayed in shape and healthy before there were supplements? Humans were made to eat real normal food. Although, today there is an increased amount of processed and genetically enhanced foods that are not like the organic foods.
Organic Foods are the healthiest foods, they also cost more, you may want to consider that as an option versus paying for supplements. It really depends on what your lacking in your diet and what you can successfully change in your diet.
If it is easier to compromise and eat a mediocre diet with some supplements that’s much better than a poor diet. I’ll go into different diets and tips on changing diets in a future post.
Welcome back!

Supplements are always supplements and they can never replace a persons balanced diet. Supplements bridge the gap.
