Flexibility - The Problem
With the ever growing problem of back pain due to an increase in office jobs, flexibility has become an important issue that’s hardly ever practiced to the extent it should be. What I mean is people are not doing flexibility exercises nearly enough and most people don’t do them at all.
Many people don’t realize how much pain can really be reduced or avoided altogether by doing regular flexibility. The bonus of this is that most flexibility exercises can be done at home with minimal equipment.
The only equipment that you may want to consider investing in is foam rollers, bands or straps that aids in flexibility all of which are very cheap. Many of these flexibility exercise can be easily learned as well by simply searching for a stretch for a body part you can find pictures and how tos.
Most stretches take only about 30 seconds at the most, but you should do the stretches at least a few times a week to ensure that your muscles do in fact loosen up. The problem is due to a lack of flexibility you may develop joint problems and abnormal posture over time.
When your muscles feel tight sometimes it is best to stretch them to help relieve the pain. Think about it physical therapist always stretch their patients to help with the healing process. Don’t put it off as time goes by your slight pain right now can develop into poor posture and cause more pain in more areas.
Welcome back!
