Exercise Program Design - Whats Yours?
Do you have an exercise program? Most people don’t and that is the reason they haven’t had the success they deserve for all the hard work they put in. You need to have an exercise program to complete a your desired goal.
The reason for this is you need to do resistance training specific to that goal. Not everyone has the same goal a body builder will have a training program that progresses toward gaining more muscle mass. This will be using different variations of hypertrophy (muscle growth) strengths training as their base exercise program.
Someone pursuing fat loss will need a program that allows them to burn the maximum amount of calories. A fat loss exercise program will require more of an endurance training program. The result is a high volume low intensity workout. The high volume of sets and repetitions will cause you to burn a lot of calories and as a result loss fat.
A wrestler will pursue a maximal strength workout which involves an exercise program with high intensity and low volume. A power lifter will focus on an explosive force generating exercise program.
All of these programs are different and have different goals. Without having an exercise program how will you accomplish your exercise goals?
It’s important to remember that you must progress to these levels of training by starting with a shorter exercise program that starts with stability training exercise. You will reduce the chance of overtraining and injury because your stabilizing muscles and tendons and ligaments have been trained through stabilization training to become stronger and more capable of handling higher level exercise programs.
It is also vital that you change your exercise program every month or so, because for one thing you will eventually stop making any gains. There is also an increased chance of overtraining especially if you are doing high an intensity exercise program.
